There comes a time every year, when the garden bounty is slowing and the mornings are cooler, that I begin to dream of warm, comforting foods. It’s this slow change in the season that begins a shift in my cravings for more warming, grounding foods. The slightly shorter days, when the sun seems almost a bit groggy and is protesting getting up for the day, mean eating at least one meal without the light of the day. If that meal turns out to be dinner, 9 times out of 1o, I’ll reach for a soothing bowl of hot soup. Any kind will do…
Chicken, beef and barley, broccoli and cheese, tomato, chowders, chili, gumbo, tortilla, french onion, carrot ginger, minestrone, albondigas, asparagus, potato and bacon, mushroom, Tom Kai Gai, lobster bisque, butternut squash…..
I could go on literally for hours.
That magical time is upon us. We are indeed coming into fall, and that means soup is on!! This fall and winter we will be offering a daily soup to sooth your soul, and your stomach.
I am so happy.
